My first blog in a while but I came across a disturbing post on one of my dance teacher community groups. What this made me realise is how important it is to make others aware of information which may jeopardise your practice.
A few months ago my colleague received several text messages from a mother claiming that her son was very much interested in dance. To our delight we were thrilled to have interest from a boy as we have no male students currently in our dance school. Unfortunately this unraveled into something which actually became rather perverse and in turn was not genuine and in fact a hoax.
Several days ago a fellow teacher posted on a dance teacher group, a screen shot of a similar text sent to herself. It seems that she was not the only one and this post resulted in many others experiencing the same problem. Now others have bee made aware of this, some have been reported to the police to which they are very much encouraging others to share any other information they may have to hopefully stop this from happening.
Communities like this are great for sharing information such as this so I encourage every one to do the same and to stay aware reoccurring situations like this... especially if you have your number advertised on social networks or as part of a website.
Stay safe people!!
